1. Project: Rolph Residence Addition and Remodel, Project 22-2182-ARB/CDP Address: 4715 Aragon Drive Applicant: Alex Pujo, architect, for Mark Rolph Planner: Syndi Souter Request of Alex Pujo, architect, for Mark Rolph, to consider project 22-2182-ARB/CDP for continued preliminary review of a request to construct 852 square-feet of additions to the first floor of the existing residence, a new 408 square-foot covered patio with a jacuzzi and outdoor kitchen, exterior alterations to the existing garage, an interior remodel, and demolition of an existing bedroom. The resultant residence would be 2,875 square feet in size and the maximum roof ridge height of the residence would remain unchanged at 22 feet. The property is a 9,147 square-foot parcel zoned Single Family Residential (7-R-1) and shown as APN 003-600-036, addressed as 4715 Aragon Drive.
2. Project: Mickelson Residence Addition, Remodel, & Accessory Structure, Project 22-2195-ARB/CDP Address: 5518 Calle Arena Applicant: Johnny Hirsh, designer, for Laura Mickelson Planner: Syndi Souter Request of Johnny Hirsh, designer and agent for Laura Mickelson, to consider project 22-2195-ARB/CDP for preliminary review of a request to construct a new 713 square-foot addition at the rear of the existing 1,184 square-foot single-family residence and construction of a new 300 square-foot gym/storage room accessory structure. The proposal includes demolition of an existing 369 square-foot sunroom in the area of the proposed addition. The project would include exterior alterations to the existing residence, an interior remodel, new landscaping, and new hardscape. The property is a 7,405 square-foot site, zoned Single Family Residential (6-R-1), and shown as APN 003-381-030, addressed as 5518 Calle Arena.
3. Project: 700 Linden Sign Program, Project 21-2090-ARB/SIGN Address: 700 Linden Avenue Applicant: Michael Stroh, DMHA Architects, for CHT, LLC Planner: Nick Bobroff Request of Michael Stroh, DMHA Architects, architect/agent for CHT, LLC, to consider project 21-2090-ARB/SIGN for preliminary review of a comprehensive sign program for the 700 Linden multi-tenant commercial development currently under construction. The proposed comprehensive sign program would provide specifications on the permissible types, locations, sizes, and designs of tenant signage and other building signage, murals and graphics for the entire multi-tenant commercial development. The property is a 0.69-acre site, zoned Central Business (“CB”) district with a Visitor-serving Commercial (“V”) overlay district, and shown as APN 003-313-001, addressed as 700 Linden Avenue.
4. Project: Klentner Mixed-Use Development, Project 23-2221-DP/CDP Address: 4745 Carpinteria Avenue Applicant: Michael Stroh, DMHA Architects, for Justin Klentner Planner: Nick Bobroff Request of Michael Stroh, DMHA Architects, agent/architect for Justin Klentner, to consider project 23-2221-DP/CDP for conceptual review of a new commercial / residential mixed-use development. The contemplated proposal calls for removing all existing site improvements and constructing a three-story mixed-use building comprised of 4,303 square feet of commercial space, 24 apartment units (2 one-bedroom units and 22 two-bedroom units), and a 53-space ground level parking garage. Total project square footage would be approximately 57,805 square feet and reach a maximum height of approximately 36 feet. The project seeks to utilize state density bonus provisions in exchange for setting aside a percentage of the apartment units for low-income affordable housing. The property is identified as APN 003-251-021, and addressed as 4745 Carpinteria Avenue (presently occupied by “Sun Coast Rentals”).
