1. Project: Seaside Coastal Apartments Signage, Project 25-2348-SIGN/ARB Address: 4573 Carpinteria Avenue Applicants: Gevorg Hambardzumyan, Front Signs, for Edward Ratinoff, James Investment Partners, Owners Planner: Marysol Smith Request of Gevorg Hambardzumyan, Front Signs, for Edward Ratinoff, James Investment Partners, Owners to consider Project 25-2348- SIGN/ARB for preliminary/final review of new non-illuminated 58 square foot wall sign in a new location for an existing apartment building. The existing wall sign would be removed. The site is half an acre in size and is zoned Planned Residential Development District ("PRD-20") shown as APN 003-241-001, addressed as 4573 Carpinteria Avenue.
2. Project: Smith Residence Addition & Remodel, Project # 25-2339-CDP/ARB Address: 5560 Calle Ocho Applicants: Dylan Chappell, Architect, for Allan Smith and Erica Camardella Planner: Marysol Smith Request of Dylan Chappell, architect for Allan Smith and Erica Camardella to consider Project 25-2339-CDP/ARB for preliminary/final review of a proposal to remodel an existing single-story home, construct additions, and reorient the garage entrance to face the street. The single-story additions would total 1,038 square feet and the height of the residence would increase from 13 feet 4 inches to 15 feet 10 inches. The project would include landscaping, a new pool, and a comprehensive exterior renovation. The site is 8,276 square feet in size and is zoned Single Family Residential (6-R-1) shown as APN 003-351-004, addressed as 5560 Calle Ocho.
3. Project: Aliso School Kindergarten Building, Project #25-2329-DP/CDP/ARB Address: 4545 Carpinteria Ave Applicants: Jason Kaff, CUSD Assistant Superintendent Planner: Megan Musolf Request of Jonathan Leech, Dudek agent on behalf of Carpinteria Unified School District (CUSD), to consider Project #25-2329-DP/CDP/ARB for preliminary/final review of a proposed new kindergarten building. All seven portable classroom structures on the Aliso School campus would be removed and the proposed kindergarten building would replace the five portable classroom structures currently used for kindergarten instruction. The proposed building would be 6,467 square feet and would consist of four classrooms, one staff and five student restrooms, and a raised courtyard area. The maximum height of the new building would be 27 feet, 4 inches above finished grade. Existing playgrounds would remain. The adjacent parking area would be partially re-striped to accommodate ADA-compliant parking spaces and the required fire truck turning radius, resulting in a net loss of five spaces. New landscape and hardscape would be installed around the proposed building. The project site, Aliso School campus, is 7.79 acres, zoned Community Facility (CF) and is addressed as 4545 Carpinteria Avenue, APNs 003-230-011, 003-230-018, and 003-230-016.
4. Project: Burgess-Birk Residence Remodel & Addition, Project 25-2328-CUP/CDP/ARB Address: 748 Maple Avenue Applicant: Dylan Chappell, architect, for Gordon Burgess and Selena Burgess-Birk Planner: Syndi Souter Request of Dylan Chappell, architect, for Gordon Burgess and Selena Burgess-Birk, to consider Project 25-2328-CUP/CDP/ARB for preliminary review of a proposal to construct additions totaling 1,916 square-feet to an existing 997 square-foot single-family residence. The resultant residence would be 2,913 square-feet in size with a maximum height of 21.83 feet above finished grade. The site is 5,878 square feet in size and is zoned Planned Residential Development (PRD-20) shown as APN 003-321-011, addressed as 748 Maple Avenue.
